**A THING ABOUT SLAYERS**

Written April 2003

Faith/Kennedy, Willow/Kennedy (Buffy/Spike & Buffy/Faith implied) NC-17
The story: Takes place in season 7. Up to "Lies My Parents Told Me". Willow brings Faith back with her. She and Kennedy seem to share some bond...

PART 1

"Hey guys it's me! Look who I brought back with me."

The potentials minus Kennedy all gathered around the red-head and the new comer. They were all looking at one another trying to figure out who the dark-haired girl was.

"If it's another newbie you can as well leave back Willow or I swear-" Anya stopped in her track.

"Faith!" Xander exclaimed as he was following Anya with Dawn.

"Faith. I see."

"Hey." Faith just said.

"Well it's been a while."

"More than that" Faith just sighed in response. Willow moved forward,
"Ok guys let me introduce you. This is Faith, the actual slayer. She's here to give us a hand."

The hall of the house was a bit crowded now.

"Ok not a funfair monster." Faith said gesturing to the girls to let them in.

"Ok girls guess we'll meet up later with Buffy, go back do your, well, whatever you were doing."

"That is; crowding the kitchen." Anya smirked as she left following the potentials.

"So about Buffy where is she? And Kennedy?"

"Down in the basement with Spike, gathering some weapons for the girls' training session." Xander told his best friend.

"Ok." Willow smiled and headed towards the basement with Faith following.

"Hey guys it's me."

"Willow!" Kennedy exclaimed as she headed towards her girlfriend. Faith looked at the brunette.

**woh girl is hot. Ok you know the place's already taken so stop it**

Kennedy was about to kiss her but Willow pushed her back because the others were there, it didn't please Kennedy, Faith noticed.

**even more sexy when she pouts. I really got to stop that. Let's forget about it, B's here... God... same sparkling gaze**

"Hey B Long time-"

"No see." Buffy ended, she walked forward. Willow was a bit worried and Spike was curious too about Buffy's reaction towards her former ennemy. Faith didn't move but was unsure too.

"See I brought back reinforcement, she helped a lot in LA."

"Angel called us." Spike said from the back of the room. Faith looked at him perplexed then at Buffy again, the blonde was still walking forward, she stopped in front of Faith.

"Well, back in the game?"

"As much as I'll have time for." Faith replied, they were still staring, not meanfully but inquisitively.

"Hope you're well aware of what you've signed up for?"

"Willow filled me in. I am."

"Ok then, welcome in the war." Buffy walked up the stairs passing by her, she turned around,
"Glad you're here, you'll be needed." she added smiling slightly at her then walked upstairs. Once at the top of the stairs she said again, without looking down at them,

"Willow gather everyone, meeting in the garden!"

She left, Faith frowned,

"I think that went rather well." Faith looked ironically at Willow who frowned inquisitively before going upstairs too, Spike followed her with the weapons.

"Of course I'm the one who get to carry all the stuffs."

Faith looked at him very cautiously as he passed by her. Kennedy remained alone in the basement, Faith looked at her, then up the stairs, then looked at her again, she was sitting on Spike's cot, looking sad and a bit pissed off.

**no Faith, meeting in the garden ok?** she started to walk upstairs again but then turned around,

"Ok she wasn't gone for years, not even a day." she told the young brunette who looked up at her even more pissed off.

"Adolf ordered a meeting up there why aren't you there already?" she just replied sitting back further more on the cot, back against the wall and crossed her arms on her stomach.

"Oh junior, mad at B too?"

"What do you want second one?"

**oh girl really has an attitude, interesting**

"Just to know what I'm dealing with wannabe." Kennedy softened her expression a bit. She now looked more sad rather than angry.

"I'm Kennedy."

"I know who you are."

"She spoke about me?" Kennedy asked hopefully.

"She said you were the strongest and the better trained of all the potentials." **forgot to mention the sexiest**

"And what else?" Kennedy asked enthused.

"Well not much, she mentioned you had a watcher, and she was killed." Kennedy's face saddened even more.

"Hey cheer up wannabe you'll get over it. Mine died too and I killed his murderer and you will too, but not by brooding here all alone."

"Yes I suppose. She didn't talk about the both of us."

**so am I being mean? Who am I kidding? Well then am I being nice instead, the girl's needing, ok, ok**

"Well in LA she mentioned that she was seeing someone. And by the way she talked about you, compared to the other potentials, I'd already guessed you two were together."

"You guessed. She didn't tell."

Faith could see the girl was kinda hurt, didn't seem to be a one time only omission. She felt kinda bad for her.

"You know we mostly talked about what happened in LA and everything she knew about The First, that is, not many things in fact. Didn't get all personals, that has never been our thing."

Kennedy was still perplexed.

"Hey lighten up a bit, she blushes when she mention your name. Willow blushing, always a good sign."

"And that fits her so well." Kennedy replied smiling mischievously at Faith who returned the exact same smile.

"So I think we have a meeting up there, don't we?" Faith said getting up and heading towards the stairs. Kennedy didn't get her eyes off of her as Faith was walking.

**Wow that girl really is a bomb!**

"Hey you comin?" Faith asked as she turned around since Kennedy wasn't following, she added, "You dreamin or what?"

"Err no, no I was thinking, I mean, about coming-to the garden I mean- Yes I'm coming." she finally shut her mouth and very fast got up to follow Faith, once again not quiting her eyes from Faith's bottom as the slayer walked up the stairs before her.

PART 2

"B how do you wanna start the training? B?" Faith entered the house from the garden where she'd left the potentials ending their lunch.

"B you there?! " there were still no responses, she headed toward the kitchen.

"And I think some of them are missing so-" she stopped when realising she wasn't there and backed off, that's when she heard a noise coming from upstairs so she climbed the stairs and was about to call Buffy again when she realised it was Willow and Kennedy talking, or rather arguing in their room. She walked closer from their half-opened door room.

"But still you could've shown me some- I don't know hapiness to see me. I don't mean to jump into my arms but, at least a-"

"They were all there and-"

"So what? We're together or not? They know it already. What's a kiss between lovers, most of all when one just came back from a trip."

"I wasn't gone for an entire day." Willow replied defensively.

"That's not the point and you know it. What kind of relationship do we have Willow?"

"Kennedy this is not the moment, they're waiting for us. There are world saving issues going on here in case you didn't notice." Willow was being a bit sardonic as Faith recalled her tone.

"I get your priority, so what am I for you?"

"Please Kennedy not now. You're a potential slayer and that's why you should already be down there with the girls, training. We'll talk later ok."

Faith shook her head disaprovingly, **Will Will Will**

She began walking away,**Anyway, not my problem, I'm off**

She headed downstairs, she tried the kitchen again and noticed the basement's door wasn't closed, she opened it and recognized Buffy's voice, she walked down slowly when she heard her talking with Spike, she stopped and listened.

"Most of them don't want me around you know that."

"Yes but that doesn't matter cause I do. I want you around. I need you around Spike."

Faith frowned, Spike said in a blasé tone,
"Yeah I know the strongest warrior besides you."

"Not only that and you know it. You're my friend and a great man. They're right, they're right when they say that when it comes to you my judgment is... different but no matter what I know that it is right that you stand by our side. This is your place, here with us." There was a long silence and Faith clenched her fists.

**some things will never change, whatever I don't care!** she headed upstairs again while Buffy and Spike kept on talking.

"You know that your trust is my number one strength Buffy."

She smiled at him and he added, "Besides I'm not the strongest warrior around with your sister back in the game."

"Faith hah yes." Buffy said sitting back straight on Spike's cot suddenly very thoughtful.

"You two have a long story. She's kind of a girl!"

"Yes she is. Faith and I... Well I don't know. It feels strange having her around again. I try to act tough because that's what I am, what I've become. Somehow what she always told me I was but... I don't know..." she looked aside.

"No matter how tough you are, or how tough you act you still have a heart Buffy and so does she? Or she wouldn't have joined back the good side and she wouldn't be by your side too, just like I am. You think that's a weakness?"

"She once thought it was." Buffy said looking at him again and he said,

"But she's here right?"

"Yes she is." Buffy smiled happy at the thought.

"And you're happy aren't you?" Spike said giving her a knowing smile.

"Yes I am." She frowned then smiled as she looked upstairs thinking about the other slayer.

~~~~~~~~~~~~
When Faith entered the garden, she noticed Willow and Xander talking to the potentials gathered at the center. Andrew and Anya were behind them, smiling childishly. Kennedy was sitting against a tree in the back of the garden, looking absent-minded. Faith sighed but headed toward Willow and Xander,
"So are we gonna start now?"
"We're waiting for Buffy" Xander replied.
"Great idea, we could also wait and play cards until The First comes here."
"She's comin in a minute." Willow replied then continued her talk with Xander about which weapons to give to the girls.
Faith sighed, "Ok that's very interesting but why do we have to wait for Buffy to use them?"
"They're not gonna use them right now, they're gonna learn to use them."
"Wow I'm impressed." Faith replied ironically before exclaiming,
"Ok girls come here! Everyone come closer!" The potentials gathered around the dark slayer.
"What are you doing?" Willow asked her.
"Something, I'm doing something at least."
"We have to wait for Buffy." Xander said before Andrew added sheepishy,
"Or she's gonna be all mean again and throw us out."
Anya added with emphasis,"Yeah big boss' not gonna be happy at all if we start the show without her."
"Ok if you have nothing better to say why aren't you two already in town to get those supplies Buffy told you to gather?" Xander told Anya and Andrew replied,
"Yes and what if we get stalked by these bringers guys?"
"And if D'hoffryn sends his minions to me?" Anya added.
Faith looked irritated, "This is pissing me off. Ok you wait for miss Buffy to finally show up and I go search for your supply, I need to move."
"You don't know what they have to take."
"It's ok I'll go with her." Kennedy said as she left her spot.
**she probably needs to get out of here as much as I do** Faith thought as she looked at her
"That's settle then."
"No it's not." Willow moved closer to Kennedy, her eyes going from her to Faith and vice versa.
"Listen Red, if blondie says anything, tell her it's all my idea, my fault my whatever you wanna tell, she's used to that. Now let's go. K?" she looked at the young brunette who sighed in relief and passed by Willow without looking at her
**she's really mad at her** Faith thought before leaving with the brunette potential.
PART 3
"So where we headin to? Is it food or something else?" Faith asked as she and Kennedy were walking at a resolute pace down the street.
"Sorta. You know what, screw that for a while. I need a drink."
Faith looked at Kennedy with surprise and smiled almost proudly at her,
"Wow K! You're really taking the wrong path there you know, believe me."
"You bet. Just a moment I swear I need that. I can't stand this house anymore."
"I know the feeling."
"So you're with me?"
"Ok, I could keep an eye on you that way." Faith said with honesty. Kennedy frowned,
"Yeah really? I heard about you, you know. I should keep an eye on you."
Faith came very close to her and riveted her eyes in the potential's one,
"Oh girlie girl you're so far from knowing a single thing about me, if you really did you'd be running tying in red's apron strings."
Kennedy gulped but stood straight and managed to keep her eyes riveted in Faith's as well.
"Think I'm scared." She asked provocatively and Faith smiled wickedly at her then walked forward.
"So you comin? Been a while since I've been to the bronze."
Kennedy smiled too, more of a relieved smile than a real one and followed her.
~~~~~~~~~~~~

"Well that's pretty empty. Just realised I've never been there during daylight. Much more fun at night."

"Yes that's sure." Kennedy replied. Faith frowned in surprise,

"You amazed me there, you mean Buffy let you all have some fun sometimes?"

"Must be joking right! That's even just if she let us a talk in the house." Kennedy added with a darker look on her face, "No I went there once, with Willow."

"She came here with you?"

"Well, I dragged her there, had to tell her I had a mission, a thing to do to get her to follow me. But in the end we had a nice moment here."

"So what's the problem now?"

"No problem." Kennedy replied before heading to the bartender and coming back pouting.

Faith teased her, "A problem teenage girl?"

"So not! I'm 19 and this jerk won't let me buy a beer, a simple beer that's not-"

"Calm down I'm on it." Faith told her before going to the bartender and coming back with 2 beers

"Enjoy." She handed the younger girl a beer.

"Thanks? You know the guy? Well sure you do, you've spent lots of time here."

"Don't go on that path either potential girl, you won't win with me."

Kennedy frowned reluctantly, knowing the dark slayer was right anyway.

"So you busted out from jail right?"

"Yeah, and they got me wasting time waiting for training you guys while Buffy's playing the doting mother with her new boytoy."

"Oh that's where she was then, I shouldn't be surprise though, she spends her time doing that. I mean, being with him, never with us, or just to tell us to do this or that and act that way. She doesn't treat us as people being but only as an army, I mean most of these girls are not even 18. I'm barely the only one whose had a decent training and knows what a watcher is, and she's asking them to be all commando-like. And Willow follows her completely blindly."

"Buffy's the super hero with the super friends, always has been and no one will change that. No one else matters."

They both drank a long mouthful of their beer. Faith looked intensely at Kennedy.

"So that's what has been going wrong between you then; Buffy?"

"No, not really, just-" Kennedy hesitated, "-Willow doesn't care about me. I thought- I mean at first it was going ok but now she seems to- she's trying to distance herself from me, that's how I feel it."

"Maybe she's just really into her research, which in it should be the case since its supposedly THE real end of the world this time, but hey you know her; Red's always been shy when in public you know, I'm sure you're too caught into the both of you to realise it but she cares and I'm sure she shows it enough at night doesn't she?" Faith smiled mischievously at the younger brunette who slightly looked aside, apparently hurt at the thought. Faith's smile disappeared and she sighed,

"Ok I get it. You two haven't done it yet, right?"

"She doesn't want to. I can barely kiss her now. She doesn't feel the way I do, I think."

Kennedy seemed obviously very hooked on Willow as Faith could see.

"Listen Kennedy I think, well, just try to be more patient, let her some time-"

**Wait what am I saying?! The girl could die tomorrow!**

Kennedy noticed her hesitation but just said, "I'm not the patient type of girl you know and-"

"Screw her."

"What?" Kennedy exclaimed a bit surprised by Faith's sudden change of speech.

"No I mean, she's a fool, if the end's really comin then she shouldn't be wasting time, jeez these people are pathetic!"

Kennedy laughed at Faith's change. Faith stared at her, "What?"

"You're strange, really not like them. I get it now why you couldn't get well with them. I like you, you're cool."

They smiled at each other.

"Well I'm gonna be a very cool but dead slayer soon if I don't come back with you in one piece and sober if possible. So are we gonna get these supplies. What is it about that?" Faith was getting up as Kennedy replied,
"Food mostly, and lots of blood for him."

Faith sat back in her chair, "Oh you've got to be kiddin me right? Got us shop for the guy's blood? And what else? I will just never get her addiction to vampires. To killing them I could but boinking them. She really knows how to piss me off royally, once more."

"I just slightly heard about that Angel guy, don't know much, but Spike... he's just, well it just doesn't seem right, he's a vampire and she's a slayer, what's wrong with her?"

"Oh God finally someone who sees the big picture, how much it is ridiculous."

"Totally." Kennedy agreed and they took another mouthful of beer. After a while Faith added almost to herself,
"B and her boys I swear... she drives me mad. She has such strange tastes in men. That makes me sick every time."

Kennedy looked at her intensely then inquisitively.

"What?! What are you looking at?" Kennedy smiled smartly, Faith added a bit pissed off,
"Why are you smiling now? Ok I don't like it wannabe!"

Kennedy finally shared her thoughts, "She could be dating any guys from mister perfect to the worst bastard that it would still make you sick wouldn't it?"

Faith looked at her, not smiling and Kennedy stopped smiling too. They were both staring at each other.

"I think it's time to go."

Kennedy finally cut the silence and went to the exit, leaving Faith alone with her thoughts for a short while. Then the slayer joined her and they both went to do the shopping then came back at the summer's house talking most of all about the training and their previous watchers.

PART 4

Faith spent the afternoon training the girls, Buffy there too until she went with Giles to pick up a new potential from San Francisco and came back at sunset. Faith let the girls gathered all the weapons and arranged them while she went to the kitchen in which Buffy was drinking a soda. She took one and sat beside her. Buffy did not speak to her, she was rather focusedg on her can, avoiding looking at Faith.

**ok**

Faith pointed out, "That's a strange training you've been giving these girls."

"Yeah, at least we're giving 'em one." Buffy replied without any specific tone and without moving her gaze off of her can.

"Luckily Kennedy had a decent one, she helped me a bit but still, would've been better if you'd stayed here, I was afraid to break her with every moves. I had to go soft on her."

"I noticed that." Buffy gave a quick look at Faith then back at her can.

Faith raised her brows, "And what does that mean?"

"Willow noticed too I think."

"I don't know what you're talking about Buffy."

"I know you Faith, I know how you fight, how you act sometimes."

Faith asked daring, "You do?"

"I don't wanna fight with you, don't have time for that, I need your help against The First, I don't have time for high school jealousy or arguments, no time for this anymore. Lots of things happened here. I've changed, I believed you did too so... am I wrong?"

Faith replied calmly, "I'm not here to fight either but I don't like the way you're acting with these girls, with everybody in fact. They're not even 18 for the most of them and we both now what this responsability can do to a girl that age, not surounded enough. Don't want that to happen again."

"I'm not here to mother them. Besides, we both went through it so they can do it too."

"But do they have to learn it the hard way like we did? If we can soften it a bit,wouldn't be cool too?"

"Slayers don't get soft lives."

"You really did change," Faith paused then went on, "Except for the screwing vampires part."

Buffy got up, "Don't go that way, Faith."

"No? I mean tell me B. You don't want to mother these girls like you say but you spend most of your time playing the dot mother with him. Who should get the most of your presence, them or him?"

**What about me?**

They were both face to face. Buffy took back her emotionless look on,

"I need him for the fight, need to make sure he's here till the end. The more he'll be ready, the less of them we'll lose."

Faith was about to speak but Buffy spoke first,
"Now if there's something you don't agree with you can as well leave back because that's just the way it's gonna be. This ends the discussion." She left the kitchen letting Faith, fist clenched in it. After a few minutes she left the house.

~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Hey what are you doing cutie?" Willow turned around and gave Kennedy a sceptical-amused gaze.
"Cutie?! That's new. I'm just arranging some clothes in my drawer." Willow turned around again to finish what she was doing. Kennedy closed the door's room behind her and walk to her girlfriend, she put her arms around her waist and Willow for a moment let her head lie against Kennedy's neck and intermingled her fingers with Kennedy's, the brunette sighed happily. She started to kiss Willow's forehead very softly, then she went to her mouth and gave her a slight kiss while her hand moved under Willow's shirt "You know I love you."
Willow pulled apart slowly but surely. Kennedy looked at her expectantly.
"Don't take it the wrong way but... I really think now is not the right time."
"When will it be? When we're dead?"
"You're being overly dramatic."
"Am I? You're the one always speaking about how big it is! How much it is the end and we're gonna die and everything and now I'm being overly dramatic?!"
"Calm down ok. Why are you acting that way?"
"How should I be acting? You're my girlfriend and I can't even touch you."
"That's not true, you're just being too impatient that's all."
"Well sorry 'bout that, someone just reminded me that I could be dead tomorrow so then again; all my excuses for wanting to love you while I'm alive, but maybe that's the problem; you prefer them dead."
Willow was stucked by what Kennedy just said, this one immediately rushed toward her,
"I'm sorry Willow I didn't mean-I-I'm really sorry, I'm sorry, shouldn't have said that."
"No you shouldn't." Willow hardly sat on her bed, looking very disturbed.
"I'm sorry, didn't mean to hurt you. What I meant was-" she squatted in front of Willow, putting her hands onto hers on her knees, "-We, maybe, don't have that much time. I don't want you to have any regret. Sometimes we realise too late how much we care about peoples, that's what I wanted to tell you; that I love you, which you know and I wanna show you how much I do that's very simple. Seize the moment Willow." she caressed her hands but Willow got up again.
"Last time I tried that, I almost ended up being a sacrifice for the Master's coming arising."
Kennedy let her head fall on the mattress spiteful.
"I can't give you what you want I'm sorry, I'm just not ready."
Kennedy got up slowly, "That's ok."
"It obviously isn't."
"No really it's ok if you just tell me, at least, how you feel about me?"
"Kennedy please..."
"This is not a hard question is it?"
"I think-"
"You know what? You think too much." Kennedy cut her and Willow told her, changing the subject by the same time,
"She really does have an influence with you, doesn't she?"
"Who are you talking about?"
"I'm talking about that person that reminded you that you could die tomorrow."
"Faith is cool, she's just being nice with me."
"I noticed that."
"At least she treats me like a person and not like a soldier, or someone you take out of a box when you need and put back in it to go on with your life when you don't; that's what most of you guys have been doing with us all."
"Oh I'm sure she's dying to give everything you need."
"What are you playing at now Willow? Going on jealous on me, could you not instead tell me what you feel or is it just because you feel like I'm your property, like private property, 'I don't use her but oh well I might do someday so back off everyone!'"
"Don't you think you're going a bit hard on it."
"Oh no I don't. Do you love me Willow?"
"Huh you think that's easy? You can ask like that and-"
"Yes it's easy, you do or you don't, very simple."
"I'm sorry again but I can't give you any answers right now. I can't reply Kennedy I'm sorry."
"You just did." Kennedy said and left the room.
"Kennedy!!" Willow called her but she was already downstairs and left the house incognito.
PART 5
**do I go to the bronze? No, Faith is right, it's really not the way to go besides I'd rather do something more... yeah exactly, some action** Kennedy smiled wickedly as she noticed the entrance of Restfield cemetery.
**Buffy would kill me if she saw me, don't even have a weapon and night's really falling. There that should do** Kennedy picked up a tree's branch and entered the cemetery. She was being very careful, silent and focused. Suddenly she heard a racket coming from a distant area of the cemetery, still very cautiously she walked towards the place just in time to see Faith dust one then a second vamp all in a second. Kennedy smiled and walked forward, Faith turned around brutally, stake raised before realising, she lowered her hand and smiled too at the situation.
"Is that a coincidence?"
"I wasn't following you if that's what you mean. I didn't even know you were out."
"About that? What are you doing here alone, with your improvised stake, aren't those bringer guys right after you, they're not gonna miss any occasions believe me."
"Well at least that would end my poor life and maybe Willow would love me then." Kennedy sighed and Faith slightly smiled,
"I get it, another lovers' tiff."
"Not lovers, she doesn't love me."
"She does believe me."
"Like you're the expert in love?"
"You got a point, but I know she does."
"She still loves HER too much to love me."
"You mean Tara? I, well, sorta see her once, didn't get to really see them both together but from what I know it was really-"
"Strong. You can say it, forever say it too, that's right, there's no place for me in that sketch."
"I don't know, Willow's changed so much from my time. She wasn't even gay back then you realise?"
"Yuck, Gotta say I have a hard time with that."
"You should've seen them, Willow and Oz, such the cutest couple."
"Yeah yeah I know, Willow and Oz were the cute couple and Willow and Tara were the strongest and stable couple and I'm just... nothing, we're just nothing together."
"Hey potential girl you just said it, they were and you two are, everything else is past, she just needs time, the thing is... we don't have much."
"Yep. Anyway, came here to change my mind so let's forget about her, what about you, why are you here?"
"I'm a slayer so cemeteries, almost my second home, well first I should say since I don't really have one right now."
"But all alone? Why didn't you go with Buffy?"
"I can hardly talk with her, she's really changed, so have I but this is a thing that will never change, there's something blocking us, it gets, we always get to argue about a thing or another, don't know."
"That thing with Spike's really pissing you off right?"
"Not that much in fact. I know the girl now, I'm used to this. I just thought we could... talk, but I can see I'm still the last thing on her mind."
"Well, the way Willow talked about the two of you, rather seemed like Buffy was a bit obsessed with you, you know."
"Obsessed? What are you talking about?"
"I don't know Buffy since very long but she doesn't like to lose, this I know. She always have to succeed one way or another and with you, from what I've understood, she lost, I mean, you went to the opposite side and I don't think that's what she wanted."
Faith was very thoughtful for a while, "Anyway that's past now and she doesn't seem to wanna win anything related to me now so I guess I just have to get over it and do what I was doing before you came."
"Slaying?"
"Hunting? You up to it?"
"I'm your girl."
"Take this!" Faith threw her a real stake.
"Thanks, gonna need it, this is gonna be a hard night for the living dead." Kennedy proudly said before walking forward, Faith slightly laughed behind her then joined her.
~~~~~~~~

"That was a nice move!" Faith said as she dusted a vamp on the ground that Kennedy just tripped up.

"Thanks." Kennedy said as she stood up straight, picking the stake the vamp took from her before she tripped him up.

"I think that was the last one of the group, they're really numerous tonight."

"Well Buffy said they're all trying to please their higher master, trying to make good impressions sorta." Kennedy told the older brunette who nodded.

"Yeah makes sense. Too bad they're dust already, I really wanted you to stake one."

"Well they kind of fall into us too quickly but still it was fun, I had a great time, that'll be for next time I gu-ouch." Kennedy was brutally pushed forward by a vampire coming from behind. Faith who'd seen him at the last minute moved forward very fast throwing her own stake on the ground to catch Kennedy's arms and made her turn around so that she was back to her chest, facing the vamp with Faith behind her, matching her body. Her hands were over Kennedy's one as she staked him, and she turned them both aside to grab a second one coming and only then she let go of Kennedy's arm. The young brunette instinctively had the right move and staked him and Faith grabbed hold of her again just in time as she was carried away by her run-up.

Dust, and silence again. Just their breathing echoing; Faith's one and most of all Kennedy's, she was breathing heavily, still trying to recall the scene that just happened. It had been so fast and also so intense. Faith had not moved yet, just the hand that held Kennedy's body when she made the move was now more resting on the girl's waist, and Faith's other hand that had previously directed both Kennedy's hand and the stake's movement was more on her wrist now. She held the girl tightly against her.

"So how does it feel?" She whispered in a husky voice into her ear. Kennedy shivered. Faith's hand now joined the other one on the potential's stomach,

"I knew you'd like it."

"It was, it was like-" Kennedy paused, eyes closed, took another deep breath,
"-hard to explain. Like kissing a girl for the first time or maybe more, touching a girl, breathing her skin, becoming intoxicated with her scent and most of all... knowing... knowing that never ever you'll be able to live without this sensation anymore." She opened her eyes again and Faith let go of her and moved in front of her.

She stared at her, "You'll be the next."

"That's not sure."

"You, only, have that inside of you, that's in your guts you know it." They were still looking very intensely at each other. Faith sighed inwardly.

**There had been a time I would've had a lot of fun with this girl, right here, RIGHT NOW... Redemption can be so frustrating sometimes**

Kennedy hesitantly said, "Don't you think it's time, we should-"

"-Go, yes, it's getting late and I think the training's been enough for you today." Faith ended Kennedy's sentence as she got out of her thoughts. She smiled wickedly at the younger girl who again took a deep breath, she still wasn't over her previous state of amazement. They both walked back outside the cemetery.

PART 6

They approached the house and noticed the lights were still fully on in the living room as well as in the garden. They looked at the window and saw only a few potentials talking, and also Xander and Anya in close talk in a corner. They chose to enter by the garden, most of the potentials were here talking strategy with Buffy and Dawn. Some were talking about Star Wars with Andrew in the back of the garden. Buffy gave the two coming girls an inquisitive look as soon as she saw them.

"Where were you?"

"Doing some actual slaying."

"Yeah right." Buffy replied staring at Faith who then looked at Kennedy,
"Well K. Everybody's here apart from Willow, meaning she's probably upstairs, alone, in the room?" Faith raised her eyebrows explicitly.

"Thank you Faith, you've been great you know. You sure it's gonna be ok here with Buffy I mean-"

"Don't worry I'm used to put up with her sermons, better spare that for you since you've got much better things to do right now?"

"Yes, time to work on that motto Willow spoke about, you know your famous Want Take Have, yeah I heard about that and I love it." Kennedy ended with a wicked smile.

"Well in fact-" Faith started but Kennedy was already inside the house.

**Ok, I think I'm gonna have more than 1 sermon, Willow's gonna kill me too. Screw that!**

She walked forward to the group. Buffy was talking to the girls again, though she'd been glancing at the two brunettes. Faith sat beside her and listened for a while. Buffy was completely avoiding her and in fact Faith would have killed for a sermon instead of these heavy gazes and long silences, she went inside after a short while.

~~~~~~~~
"Willow!" Kennedy asked loudly entering the room.
"Kennedy!" Willow shouted rushing out of the bathroom. She hugged her and Kennedy kissed her neck and ran her hands under her shirt.
Willow pulled back with a frown, "What are you doing?!"
"Taking you." Kennedy replied giving her her most ingenuous smile.
"Ah so you decided huh?!"
"I want you Willow."
"Oh I see, so I want a million dollar, no! A thousand million dollars well well just a minute, lemme go to the bank and take them. What does that mean Kennedy?!"
"Willow. Ok I'm sorry, you know it's not the same thing." Kennedy sounded a bit ashamed.
"No?! I wanted to say I was sorry and all but you, you just bail and I worry cause I don't know where you are or what you're doing, and then you come here all horny on me and I should just bow to you."
"It's not that, I didn't mean to worry you. I had to go but I was ok, I was with Faith."
"Oh that's much better then." Willow said with emphasis.
"We slayed, I dusted a vamp and it was- I wanted to share- I wanted to be with you."
"This is how you share?"
The expression on Kennedy's face changed completely, it turned more serious and thoughtful.
"So, this is your last excuse?"
"Excuse for what?" Willow asked trying to sound as serious as Kennedy who added,
"For not being with me. You know what? It's bullshit, I could've come back and talk butterflies and flowers you still would have thrown me out right?"
"I'm not throwing you out, I just don't unsderstand your behavior these days that's all."
"Well it's rather simple, I'm fed up with being thrown out by you. You don't wanna be with me, that seems very clear, yet each time I come back cause I love you how silly huh? But I think that's ok now. I really got the message this time."
Kennedy left with teary eyes.
PART 7
Kennedy meant to leave the house when she noticed the front door was opened as the few smoking potentials were gathered on the porch, so she turned left and headed towards the basement. She walked down very fast in order not to be seen by anyone, that's only once she was downstairs that she realised someone was here as the punching ball was moving.
"Oh didn't know someone was here." She immediately turned around to climb back the stairs when someone called,
"K! T's ok it's me." Faith just moved aside from behind the punching ball. Kennedy stopped but didn't turn around as a few tears were falling despite her will.
"What's wrong?"
"Nothing." Kennedy barely replied, trying to hide again the painful bowl choking in her throat.
"You cryin?" Faith moved forward, Kennedy didn't reply and the dark slayer added,
"Guess it didn't go as smoothly as planned huh?"
Kennedy turned around and Faith looked at her from top to bottom, in an almost predatory way. She moved closer to the potential and walked very slowly around her. Kennedy once looked at the stairs thinking about going back up... but she stayed. Faith was behind her, she moved even closer, pressing her body against the younger girl's one. Kennedy breathed in a bit louder at the contact. Faith runned her hand on Kennedy's nape and neck and the other one on her stomach.
**Well, well, too much frustrations, also not good for redemption anyway**
Faith then looked up absent-minded for a second...
**These green eyes, happy, sad, dead, smiling at me or hating me, killing me... whatever... I'd always get lost in**
She very fast got out of her thoughts and ran her tongue from Kennedy's neck up to her jaw, licking the tears on it. Kennedy shivered and Faith took her hand in hers whispering,
"They don't know what it feels. I know girlie girl how you feel. Your blood is rushing in your veins, you feel it running everywhere, your heart is pumping, feels like it's gonna explode. It's rushing at the pit of your stomach and you just wanna scream out loud, you need... you need to let it all out... you're a slayer."
She put her hand on Kennedy's face and pulled her into a kiss.
Still kissing her she moved in front of her and held her tight, their kiss became something of an urgency for both of them. Kennedy's hands were roaming on Faith's back and over her sports bra. Faith's hand was on Kennedy's breasts over her shirt and the other on her neck, keeping her face as close as she could.
She kissed her widely on her neck again and Kennedy softly was moaned. Faith lifted the potential who just clutched on to her and wrapped her legs around Faith's waist while this one moved them both to Spike's cot, removing the younger girl's top in the process. Faith leaned upon Kennedy and started to kiss her collarbone while massaging her breasts over her bra, her other hand was already moving down the girl's stomach. Kennedy, within breaths, was trying to sit straight again,
"God Faith stop..."
She was as excited as Faith was, her hands were still over the dark slayer's bra. Faith didn't stop and kissed her, exploring her mouth, waiting as she knew Kennedy would respond positively to the intrusion. Battle of tongues ensued but after a while Kennedy tried again,
"We have to- stop... now." Faith pulled apart a little and Kennedy, taking back her breath told her, "You know I love Willow."
Faith moved closer and licked her from her neck to her left ear and whispered, "Yes I know-"
She went to the other side and did the same, still whispering, "-And we both know who I'd rather be doing that to."
She kissed her and pulled apart again, "But they're not here. We are. We might not be tomorrow."
She waited for a few seconds, letting Kennedy decide. Which she did by moving closer and removing Faith's bra, she bent to suck on her breasts. Faith moaned and undid the young brunette's bra at the same time. She then pushed Kennedy back on the mattress and removed the pants of the both of them, she then lied on top of her, her left hand going down, under the girl's panties. She looked at her intensely as she reached her soft spot and started to rub on it. Kennedy closed her eyes and Faith kissed her neck again, and as the girl's moans became more and more ragged she finally slid a finger and started a slow rythm in and out, Kennedy's legs spreading even more. They were so caught up into the action that they didn't hear the basement's door opening and someone walking down.
**Oh bloody Hell!** Spike immediately walked back up the stairs and closed the door behind him. Kennedy's breathing was very jerky, Faith moved down and started an alternate licking of the girl's soft spot and taping of it with her finger.
Kennedy was very close, Faith entered her again with her finger and suck on her clit, a few strokes and Kennedy let out a loud groan as she climaxed.
Faith moved up, licking her finger as she smiled seductively at Kennedy before this one grabbed her head and pulled her closer to kiss her. Faith sucked on her ears again, she was still on top of her and felt Kennedy's hand moving down, one resting on her breast, pinching and rubbing her hardened nipple and the other one moving further down until she reached her crotch. Faith spread her legs to allow more contact. Kennedy slid a finger inside of Faith's wetness. Faith inhaled deeply into Kennedy's ears at the pleasant intrusion. She slowly matched Kennedy's hands' rythm. Her breathing was so heavy in Kennedy's neck as she was licking it, she fastenned the rhythm herself and whispered in a very husky tone, "More."
Kennedy pulled her face into a kiss as she entered a second finger inside of the dark slayer. Faith groaned. Kennedy started thrusting more and more faster, matching Faith's rhythm this time. She started to rub Faith's soft spot with her thumb and after a while Faith climaxed in her turn, letting herself fall on the cot, half over Kennedy.
They both remained silent for a while as they were trying to catch their breath back. Kennedy seemed embarrassed, a bit afraid to look at her and guilty to actually feel good. Faith after a while propped herself on her elbow and looked at her. Kennedy looked at her too but didn't dare to talk.
"Don't worry. This is no big deal. She won't know anything ok? It'll get better with her soon and this... this will stay our little secret, ok junior?"
Kennedy smiled at her, "Ok."
Faith gave her an approving nod before going up and getting dressed up again under Kennedy's nosey look. She walked towards the stairs.
"Err Faith?"
"Yep?" she asked turning around to look at the younger brunette who was sitting up on the cot now.
"Thank you. I mean for everything... You're someone great."
"Maybe. Good night little girl."
She walked up the stairs and once more Kennedy couldn't help checking out her butt. She smiled thoughtfully...
